Lyn St. James' story is a remarkable one. It culminated into victories few others can claim - winning the title of Indy 500 Rookie of the Year (1992), competing in 7 Indy 500's, in a sport few women have ever participated. She became the first woman to exceed 200 mph on an oval track and set 31 international and national closed circuit speed records. Great stats, but the real story is packed in the journey to get there. Lyn St. James is a popular speaker and author who can communicate about the drive that leads to success. She understands the rejection, the "crashes", the inferiority feelings, the defeated mind-set when others constantly "get the breaks", and when victory seems achievable only for others. Allow Lyn to share with your marketing team, your sales group, your management staff, or your entire organization, the determination and positioning she used to break into a world no one could have imagined. Let her impact your team to consider other paths - those not so typical. Let her relate to their moments of defeat, but then watch how she encourages and sparks in them the drive to achieve their goals - or perhaps the goals you have set for them as an organization. Lyn's story is not about simply being a successful racecar driver. Her goals include sharing the journey, sharing her experience, and helping others as she moves into the next phase of her life. She's now giving back. In 1993 she launched the 501c3 Lyn St. James Foundation, Driver Development Program, and "Women in the Winner's Circle". She's giving to those who follow, like so many gave to her along the way. Lyn has turned her journey into a path of helping others. When the race is finished, and the are trophies handed out, what will be your team's next moment. Perhaps if the vision is clear, your audience will see reason to achieve goals now that will carry into a world in addition to business.
